He's the most loyal person tho and he's easily protective of those who respect him.

Eventually he uses his sharp mind and skill for weapons for the research and development department, improving weapons and working on new ones.

Relationships

  • Brooks: best friend, very close "Brooks is my better half. I'm the brains tho"

  • Casther: loves testing him more than anything, but in the end he too respects Casther (even if he'd never admit it) "I have no f*ing clue why Val sticks around with that walking annoyance."

  • Val: highly respects him, maybe some sort of fatherly figure to him? "If there's one competent person in this place, it's him. At least right after me of course"

  • Silas: They get along quite well, but he sees Silas tactics as too boring sometimes "Yeah, at least he's not a pain in the ass"

  • Thea: Cares for her and can be quite protective. Not like he ever would admit it tho. "I don't know how they managed to produce a mini Casther but here we are."

  • Olivier: Probably the only one he truly respects except for Val "If there's one type of people I don't fuck around with, it's lesbians carrying a sword."

  • Miles: "That guy needs to chill and get out the stick he has stuck up is ass"

  • Buccaneer: "It's an insult to life how tall that man is. No, it's not because I'm short. I'm definitely average"

Background

Richie grows up at an orphanage after losing his parents at an early age to the Ishvalan war. In Richie's teens he meets Brooks and they quickly became friends. Richie's sharp mind was a huge help for Brooks in school and Brooks did everything to keep Richie out of trouble (most of the times).Once they graduated school they decide to enlist the military school, making themselves appear older (they were two years you ger than the allowed 18). A ruse that was eventually spotted and nearly ended in them getting kicked out of the military. Because their skill would've been wasted that way, they were simply sent to Briggs to "get rid of the problem".

Trivia

• Participated in a sniper competition at East command which ended in a tie with Riza
• Once tried to apply as a state alchemist bc they thought he's qualified. Didn’t work out ofc bc Richie can't even draw a circle. Or knows anything about alchemy.
• Would lose in a fist fight against literally anyone, that fool is weak af.
• On his first day Richie called Casther a "straightie" and Casther never felt more offended. (He cried about it to Val later)
• Richie is a hoe. Yep, that's it. That's his character.
